Glaze Color Guide
Some glazes used during the Norman era were not used after the fire of 1938. These are considered the rarest of the glazes according to most Frankoma collectors.
These glazes include:
- Blue-Gray Jade
- Cherokee Red
- Chinese Red
- Dove Gray
- Early Blue
- Gun Metal
- Jade Green
- Maple
- Mocha
- Pompeian Bronze
- Unknown - *Dark Cherokee (matte)
- Unknown - *Pumpkin
- Unknown - *Seafoam Green
- Verde Green
The unknown glaze color(s) listed in this section have been identified by these *names by some Frankoma collectors.
Other glazes used during the Norman era, which were also used after the fire of 1938 include:
- Fawn Brown
- Ivory
- Old Gold
- Onyx Black
- Royal Blue
- Texas Brown | Osage Brown
- Verde Bronze | Praire Green
Sapulpa glazes in this section include only the colors that have been used on the Ada Clay line.
The most desirable Sapulpa glaze colors can be identified as "1942" colors. The glazes in this category were not used after 1942, so they represent some of the earliest glazes used during this period.
These glazes include:
- Dusty Rose
- Fawn Brown
- Indian Blue
- Ivory
- Matte Yellow
- Osage Brown
- Rosetone
- Royal Blue
- Silver Sage
- Sky Blue
Post 1942 glazes used during the Sapulpa era include:
- Clay Blue
- Old Gold*
- Onyx Black*
- Peacock Blue
- Prairie Green*
- Red Bud
- Sorghum Brown
- Turquoise
- White Sand
Note: *Old Gold, *Onyx Black, and *Prairie Green glaze colors were used before and after 1942.
